Praying Circles
Privacy Policy
Praying Circles is a private app for sharing prayer requests with small groups. Prayer requests are personal, so we collect as little as we can, we never sell your information, and we show no ads. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
"We" means Mbakop, LLC, the maker of Praying Circles. You can reach us at hello@prayingcircles.com.
What we collect
- Account: your email address (to send your sign-in code) and the name you choose to show to your circles.
- Profile photo: only if you add one.
- What you share: prayer requests, updates, answered notes, and the circles you start or join.
- Prayer activity: when you tap Pray or "Praise God", so the person knows someone prayed.
- Safety: reports you send and people you block.
- Notifications: a push token from Apple or Google so we can send the alerts you turn on. Your daily reminder time stays on your phone.
We do not collect your contacts, location, or advertising identifiers, and we use no ad or tracking tools.
Who can see what
- A request shared with the whole circle is visible to that circle's members. A "leaders only" request is visible to the circle's leaders.
- An anonymous request hides your name from members. The circle's leaders can still see who posted it, so they can care for you and keep the circle safe.
- Your name and photo are visible to the people in your circles. People outside your circles cannot see your requests.
- An invite link shows the circle's name, its leader, and the first names of some members to the person who opens it.
How we use it
Only to run the app: to sign you in, show your circles, deliver requests and prayers, send the notifications you choose, keep circles safe, and answer you when you write to us. We do not use your requests to train AI models and we do not sell or rent your information.
Services we use
- Supabase: stores the app's data and photos and handles sign-in (servers in the United States).
- Resend: sends your sign-in code emails.
- Apple and Google push services, via Expo: deliver notifications.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website.
These providers process information only to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings › Delete account). This deletes your profile, photo, requests, updates and prayers. Circles you lead are handed to a co-leader, or deleted if there is none. Backups are removed within 30 days.
Your choices
- Edit your name and photo in Settings › Profile.
- Turn each kind of notification on or off, and mute any circle.
- Edit, mark answered, or delete your requests.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, at hello@prayingcircles.com.
Children
Praying Circles is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Your data is sent over encrypted connections, and access rules in our database make sure people only see the circles they belong to. No system is perfectly secure, so please share only what you are comfortable sharing with your circle.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
